SOP (Soldiers of Photography) is a subsidiary institution of Damm Zu Limited. SOP was formed to serve as a platform for coordination and networking among photographers as well as the creative industry players.
It was founded in 2012 in Ghana as a photography company providing event photography services only. Photography in Ghana has evolved and the industry has become very wide and open to lots of people.
SOP has since then decided to play the role of developing the skills of photographers and other creative persons in every area of the profession including branding. SOP also serves as a host for the online presence for works/portfolios of photographers.
At SOP we believe that everyone creative person has a unique quality that can help another person develop their potential to the maximum level. We use these people in addition to our equipment to produce a creative atmosphere for learning and interactions.
It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.
Our mission is to build the capacity of people in the photography industry in Ghana through education, mentorship programmes and branding.
Honouring the profession by ensuring high standard of professionalism among photographers
SOP has two categories of Officers, the action officers and the tuition officers. An officer can be both action and tuition. Action officers are those SOP Officers dedicated to only shooting as a service whiles tuition officers are those SOP Officers who are instructors. All of our tuition officers (Instructors) are action officers; this is because we want our students to have training from experienced people. Tuition Officers (Instructors) are carefully selected based on professional experience and educational achievements.
Our flying officers are those SOP Officers who are experts in drone technology and how to use the drone in creative works.
